Daniela Leitner, a senior scientist in Berkeley Lab’s Engineering Division and division deputy, has been elected a 2022 American Physical Society (APS) Fellow. She is being recognized by the APS Division of the Physics of Beams for her work on electron cyclotron resonance ion sources that are widely used as high-charge state ion injectors for heavy ion facilities. She is currently working as the Lead for the Removal & Installation area for the ALS-U Project. Election as an APS Fellow recognizes advances in physics through original research and publication or innovative contributions in the application of physics.
