Berkeley Lab’s Nuclear Science Division will host the 11th annual Nuclear Science Day for Scouts this Saturday, September 30. Alan Poon, a senior physicist and head of the Fundamental Symmetries & Neutrinos Program, has helped organized this event since its inception in 2009. “The most satisfying part of this event has always been helping the youths get interested in STEM, and that was a good practical use of my former scout leader training — I was a scout leader in Canada before I came to Berkeley Lab as a postdoc.”
