Marlene Turner – a research scientist (currently on leave) at the Berkeley Lab Laser Accelerator (BELLA) Center, part of the Accelerator Technology and Applied Physics (ATAP) Division – is featured in this new Symmetry Magazine article. Turner was interviewed about a recent report from the Snowmass Accelerator Frontier Implementation Task Force (ITF) she contributed to that underscores the importance of energy consumption and cost for future large-scale particle accelerator projects. The report also discusses the potential for new technologies to address these needs, which is a subject of her own research.
